The Bobo Dioulasso region

Bobo Dioulasso
Bobo Dioulasso means litterally: 'Home of the Bobo and the Dioula'. This is the artisitc and cultural capital of the country - The old Sya quarter:
Situated in the city-center, the architecture of this quarter dates back to the origins of the city. It is an very interesting and entertaining spot near the banks of the marigot Houet, which gives its name to the province. Here you will find musicians with traditional instruments, craftsmen, potters and many ancient, pittoresk spots. You can also witness the brewing of the traditional local beer: Dolo. - The village Koro
This village has been built in the rocks and offers a splendid view on the plane and the rock-formations. Its inhabitants are traditional and animistic Bobos.

- The lake with the holy fish
Situated at 8 km from Bobo. After a sportive descent of 30 or so meters, you can visit the lake with its holy fish, an important animistic cult place. - The village of Satiri
On the road between Bobo and Débougou, with fromagers and kapokiers treeds bordering the roadside, you will find Satiri, at 45 km from Bobo. In the village live diverse ethnic groups, such as Bobo, Dafing, Dioula, Peulh. Many of them live in a traditional manner. Karité (Shea) butter is produced here, as well as soumbala.
The Banfora region:

- Lake Tingrela
At 9 km from Banfora, you can enjoy magnificent waterplants and hippopotamos. - The Karfiguela waterfalls
At 13 km from Banfora, splendid mango-lanes announce that you have arrived at the waterfalls, a place where you can bathe very pleasantly.

- The Febedougou Domes
Situated at 3 km from the Karfiguela waterfalls, wind and erosion have sculpted amazing forms. - The Sindou Peaks
At roughly 50 km from Banfora, the rocks of Sindou form long chimneys sculptured by the wind. At the top you can enjoy magnificent views. - The country of the Lobi
In the south-west of Burkina live the Lobis, a tribe which has kept its culture and tradition. The musea of this regoin are the richest in the country. The local markets offer rare and interesting local products.
